New: A(lternative) A(dministration) C(onsole) - SWV Edition

The A(lternative) A(dministration C(onsole) (SWV Edition)

What does it do?

It is dependent on an excellent piece of software which makes it simple for you to create and use virtual software.
The benefits of virtual software is always a clean machine, and (as myself) you don't have to re-install your operating system many times a year.
My own OS is running for almost 1.5 year without new install, and as clean and mean as the first day it was installed.

The software is called Symantec Workstation Virtualisation.
A free package for you to use on your hoe computer, a paid version when you want to use it in a corporate environment

The latest AAC, after the auto-update, is flagged by Avira Antivir that it contains a trojan.

Try updating the definition of your anti virus solution. AAConsole is 100% virus free.

Partial Layer Activation

Hi there,

I'm having troublie partially activating layers on Windows 7 64-bit. I'm using the latest SWV 6.3 version.  Is this a known issue?

Thanks, William

 Wilmee, What do you expect

 Wilmee,

What do you expect from a Partal Activate? I mean, It is partially activated but I didn't see any changes either, a simple PDF reader should activate when partially activated, but this doesn't work, did you have it working in the past?

Hi there, I did have it

Hi there,

I did have it working in the past. Basically only the desktop icons, right-click contextual menu items, file associations etc were visible for a partially activated layer.  If one of these entry points was executed, then the entire layer was actiivated and the rest of the application appeared in c:\program files (for instance).

I'm guessing this is a change with SWV itself, and not AAC, but I just wanted to make sure, as no tick appears next to a partially activated layer in AAC when I attempt to partially activate it using the tool.

Thanks,

William

I've tested, probed, searched, and can't seem to find it, it must be SWV.
